Sweet Sundays with abrah
Well friends this is the first of many Sweet Sunday posts with Abrah Hunter. She will be taking over the blog on Sundays to tempt us with her delicious health minded and sometimes naughty vegan treats.
Abrah has always been an excellent baker and recently a client of mine but more importantly a good friend....and with all my good friends I convert them to love the vegan lifestyle just a little ( I know...so manipulative...I just care about your health and longevity friends!). Anyways Abrah is as cute as a button...I mean look at her and she is FIT! So take a read at these awesome Chia bars. She brought them in pre-workout the other day and I wasn't too happy because she only brought me one! They are that good! Let us know if you try the recipe!
Cha-cha-cha-cha Chia bars are on my mind today!
These chocolate chia bare are scrumdidlyumptous! I love to have one pre-workout, with lunch or to curve that sweet tooth of mine that is always yelling at me.
So why do I LOVE these bars?!
Now, what will you need to make there squares of chocolate decadence?
Only 5 ingredients, yep I said only 5!
▪1 cup pitted dates
▪1/4 cup peanuts (or nut of choice)
▪ 2 Tbs chia seeds
▪ 2 Tbs cocoa powder (unsweetened)
▪ 1/4 cup Trader Joe's mixed nut butter (or your favorite nut butter )
You will also need a food processor, parchment paper and a pan!
Measure and place all ingredients into food processor.
Mix til a cohesive mixture forms (you may have to scrape the sides a bit!)
Line a 9×13 (i like this size pan because i like my bars a tad thicker) pan with parchment paper and press mixture firmly into pan. This will help the bars stay together!
** sprinkle unsweetened coconut or cacao nibs on top for a little extra crunch and flavor**
Fridge for at least 45 min. Cut and serve, and try to not to eat all in one sitting!
Just another girl who is trying to inspire others. Passionate about health and fitness. And a love of coffee and peanut butter.
